I’m proud to share that Moxie has raised a $10M Series B led by Lachy Groom and Signalfire at nearly 3x the valuation of our 2023 Series A. We've been lucky to have been extremely cash efficient as we’ve grown, with the majority of the money we've raised still in the bank. We raised this round because we have a big agenda: our vision is to make every independent medspa more profitable and the job of running it more sustainable. That means providing independent medspa owners with everything they need to launch, run, and grow a sustainable, profitable, and compliant business.
Through 2024, we’ve seen more and more investment into large chains and private equity-backed rollups, increasing the pressure on smaller, independently owned medspas that don't have access to the same resources or expertise. Moxie is fighting back—thanks in part to our latest funding round—by giving independent medspa owners access to the same level of guidance, resources, tools, and pricing power as the chain and PE conglomerates. Independent practices deliver better care, and we believe the independent entrepreneurs who built this industry deserve to keep winning.
We’re accelerating on top of strong momentum:
- We’ve helped launch and currently support over 250 medspas.
- On average, medspa entrepreneurs launching with Moxie do so three times faster and at half the cost, and then grow twice as fast vs. the national average.
- We’ve shipped over 44 new features in Moxie Suite based on the direct feedback of the medspas we enable, such as adverse event reporting, embedded bookkeeping, integrated Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), and much, much more.
- We’ve built a Medical Director network with over 90+ MDs across the U.S., enabling our medspa owners to find a strategic partner that ensures both compliance and patient safety.
- Our medspas purchase supplies at rates competitive with the largest chains, with up to 55% savings on injectables, devices, and supplies.
- All of that lets our medspas focus on doing what they do best: deliver exceptional treatments across the 200,000+ appointments booked through Moxie Suite.
Announcing Moxie Compliance Defender
When we started Moxie, we helped medspas in three ways: Launch, Run, and Grow. Today, we’re introducing a fourth pillar: Protect. Medspas are highly regulated medical practices, and are a frequent subject of inquiries from nursing and medical boards. Medspa owners often find they’ve accidentally done something wrong, even though they’re making best efforts and spending tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees each year.
To help medspa owners and employees protect their licenses and protect their practices—and to enable medspas partnered with Moxie to offer the highest level of patient safety and care—we’re announcing our newest offering: Moxie Compliance Defender.
We've worked with medical experts, leading aesthetic medicine lawyers, and providers to understand how technology could make the process of getting and staying compliant faster and easier. We used those learnings to build tools seamlessly integrated into our medspa management software, Moxie Suite. This ensures providers complete actions that may be needed to meet regulatory requirements and offer their patients the highest level of safety and care—without having to purchase another tool or remember another login.
Moxie Compliance Defender manages the extensive paper trail and action items required for medspa compliance, including required meetings with Medical Directors/Supervising Physicians and adverse reaction reporting. It is an automated compliance monitor that securely tracks business set-up, medical records, client communications, and financial transactions help manage compliance. It uses AI to monitor ads for non-compliant language, highlighting areas of concern, and helping medspa owners correct small issues before they become big ones. It also allows medspas to remain audit-ready and reduce the stress of regulatory oversight by keeping everything in one secure, easy-to-use system.
